Workholding Fixture Applications: Industry Quick Look-up Checklist

Factories with these production characteristics must adopt postionning fixture, brand like EROWA, SYSTEM 3R, POFI (regardless of industry).

If three or more of the following apply, the return on investment will be extremely high:

1.Multiple processes and frequent loading/unloading of workpieces: The same part requires repeated mounting and dismounting for milling, EDM, wire cutting, and inspection;

2.Tight tolerances within ±0.01 mm; repeated clamping can lead to cumulative errors and high scrap rates;

3.High product variety, small batch sizes, and frequent model changes—with more than 10 model changes per day, machine setup consumes significant spindle time;

4.Requirement for off-machine pre-assembly: Workpiece alignment and fixture assembly are completed off the machine, with the machine responsible only for cutting;

5.Coordinated machining across multiple machines: Multiple CNCs and EDM machines share the same workpiece;

6.Batch inspection on a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) is required: Workpieces do not need to be re-aligned; they are measured directly on the CMM while still on their pallets;

7.Graphite/copper electrodes require high-volume machining, with dozens of electrodes processed daily;

8.Labor costs are high, so we aim to reduce the number of machine operators and enable one operator to manage multiple machines;

9.Customers have strict audit requirements regarding machining consistency and process traceability (automotive, aerospace, and medical industries).

Must-haves for the first tier: Precision mold factories (including electrode workshops), automated unmanned CNC/EDM production lines, and precision components for the aerospace and medical industries;

Strongly recommended for the second tier: 3C structural components, new energy vehicle parts, and small-batch precision machining involving multiple processes;

Key considerations: Frequent tooling changes, inter-process transfers, high-precision requirements, and plans to implement automation.
